The PLC and Voyage.tv Set the Stage for High-Definition Hotel Video Production, Marketing, and Distribution
New York, NY (July 13, 2010) - The Private Label Company (“The PLC”), the leading provider of international private label sales and marketing solutions, today announced the partnership with Voyage.tv, the upscale consumer media portal offering high-definition video content of travel destinations and travel-related experiences.
Continuing their mission to keep the client hotel’s brand first and foremost in all their operations, The PLC and Voyage.tv are proud to introduce a comprehensive suite of video services that allow hoteliers to communicate their brand to an increasingly media-savvy audience.
Voyage.tv, headquartered in New York City, brings together accomplished travel professionals and cutting-edge video production to create high-definition content that is compelling, current, accurate and, above all, personal.
The combined effort enables hoteliers to showcase their properties and brand with customized high-quality videos, comprehensive video search engine optimization, and an integrated video marketing and distribution platform.
Client hotels gain professional filming and editing services, as well as full use of the videos and photo stills for hotel websites and communication materials. TRAVEL WEEKLY - January 25th, 2010 - Voyage.tv rolling out purchasing function on cable broadcast
Travel agents will soon face competition from yet another electronic medium as Voyage.tv
Voyage.tv, which started broadcasting its travel-destination videos on Cablevision in August, is set to debut interactive features this quarter after boosting its potential TV audience by 70% within the past four months.
The independent cable channel plans eventually to enable people to use their cable- and satellite-box remote controls to buy travel packages. The technology lets customers reserve travel packages by interacting with the company
Michael McNabb, CEO of New York- based Voyage.tv
He said the feature would be available to about 3.5 million Cablevision customers in the New York area.
The channel uses wholesaler Mark Travel Solutions to develop high-end travel products based on the videos and to provide call center services.
It started testing its TV programming in July and in August debuted the content in about 20 million homes served by Comcast, Cablevision, Insight Communications, Mediacom Communications, Verizon FiOS, AT&T U-verse and Mag Rack Entertainment. Voyage.tv is now accessible in about 34 million homes and could reach 40 million by the end of March, McNabb said.
He added that Voyage.tv is set to announce another distributor this month.
Voyage.tv is one of a number of travel oriented TV programs set to debut inter-few months. Cruise Shoppes, a consortium of 200 small travel agencies owned by Florida-based Next One Interactive, launched its 30-minute show on-demand will be a viable tool for either lead generation or actual transactions by complementing Internet-based promotions and other media.
While McNabb said the multichannel approach helped more than quadruple Voyage.tv
Among those skeptical of the model is Forrester Research analyst Henry Harteveldt.
Additionally, Harteveldt cited forecasts by the research firm In-Stat that the number of U.S. households that regularly watch online videos on their TVs will jump tenfold, to about 25 million, between 2009 and 2013. If that is so, he argued, what sense does it make to put resources into transaction-based video-on-demand programming as more people access the Web from their TVs?
Still, McNabb insisted that his company was less than two years away from providing video programming that enables full travel-package purchases, while Robb cited Voyage.tv
Customers will be able to make a nominal reservation fee payment at the Voyage.tv site.

NEW YORK - JUNE 22, 2009 - A Site to Book Luxury Trips and Preview Them in Video
By ANDREW ADAM NEWMAN
With so much turmoil in the economy, it might seem an odd time to unveil a Web site dedicated to luxury travel, but backers of Voyage.tv, which made its debut last week, say affluent travelers are still packing their Louis Vuitton bags.
According to promotional materials for Voyage.tv, the market for the site is “affluent urban consumers” who are heavy users of the Internet, especially social networks. The site combines elements of the Travel Channel and Expedia.com Expedia.com : users can view broadcast-quality videos of destinations (mostly the Caribbean now, with New York, Tuscany, Bali and other locales in production), as well as buy plane tickets and book hotels.
John Pasmore, the president of Voyages North America, said he expected the site’s revenue to be about equally divided between advertising and bookings. The company reports selling more than $1.8 million in advertising before its debut. Advertisers appear not only in display ads but also in spots at the beginning of videos. Those videos — with accompanying advertising spots — will also be available to 20 million television viewers through video on demand.
According to a recent report by Euromonitor International, a market research firm, worldwide hotel revenue will shrink by 3.6 percent this year and air travel by 2.3 percent, compared with last year. The group predicts that both segments will begin to bounce back in 2010, each growing by about 1 percent.
Mr. Pasmore said that the site had been in the works for more than two years, preceding the downturn, and that he and his partners decided not to wait for rosier economic forecasts to unveil it.
“When we felt the site was ready, we certainly wanted to take the wrapper off,” Mr. Pasmore said. “And we’re glad this June isn’t like last November was, when people thought we were falling off a cliff.”
Still, because even Lamborghini drivers are spending less conspicuously, Mr. Pasmore said the site was tempering the emphasis on luxury, which it will highlight more in the future.
“Affluent consumers are buying, but in a more modest way,” he said. “If we were launching into a boom, we would be adding videos of more five- and six-star unique properties, but at this point, at that super-high end, you aren’t seeing demand, and people are looking for more eco-travel packages and other lower-hanging fruit.”

Voyage.tv Signature Programming presents a diverse range of lifestyle interests in vibrant high- definition. Gourmet takes viewers on culinary tours exploring superb dining and hospitality around the world. Viewers visit the world's most luxurious and spiritually uplifting spas and health resorts with Nirvana. Retail Therapy captures the pace and thrill of world-class shopping. For the "best of the best" Voyage.tv presents The Good Life, revealing the activities, people and cultural events that makes a luxury destination unique.
Voyage.tv highlights established and emerging luxury destinations. Currently, Voyage.tv is showcasing the Caribbean with programming on 11 islands, with future spotlights to include New York, Mexico, Hawaii, Tuscany, Bali and Marrakech.
“Voyage recognizes that lifestyle interests such as food, shopping or wellness are important in defining who we are, and also happen to be primary drivers of luxury travel purchase,” said Michael McNabb, CEO of Voyage. “
Where Can Life Take You?
Voyage.tv programming connects a range of content, features and tools that support dreaming, learning, sharing and purchase. These features include personal insights from local Resident Editors, dining and nightlife recommendations, articles from leading travel publications and unbiased video profiles of leading hotels and resorts.
“Every feature on the site is designed to help consumers explore what interests them,” said John Pasmore, President of Voyage. “For example, someone could go from viewing a spa program, to the video profile about that resort, to an article by a Resident Editor. Ultimately, that consumer may decide to take the final step and arrange their own getaway by booking it on our site.”
Age of Prosumer – A Blend of Professional and Consumer
At Voyage, members are creators and collaborators, not just media consumers. Voyage encourages its members to actively participate in the development and production of Signature Series Programming, earning both recognition and rewards. This collaboration results in the 2 creation of superior content, and more importantly, greater personal involvement on the part of the members.
To support this community partnership, Voyage is allowing public access to its digital mash-up library of full motion video encompassing over 20,000 HD clips, as well as a library of stock images and, in the future, music tracks. They can combine this footag with their own travel video and photography, and even produce their own ‘feature’ videos for the Voyage.tv site.
“By allowing the consumer to engage in the program development and production process, you ensure that there are stories that the audience wants to see,” said Lee deBoer, a long time HBO executive and Voyage founder. “It results in highly relevant and targeted programming.”
